Thomas’ Barberton Black Friday Food and Energy Gameplan. Start with local breakfast, shop small businesses, enjoy hearty lunches, and keep fueled with caffeine and community all day long.

Wake Up, Barberton! Black Friday Is Here!

Hey everyone, Thomas here. You know me, I love food, and I love a good plan. The Thanksgiving leftovers are in the fridge, the alarm clock feels way too early, but guess what? It’s Black Friday, and we’ve got an energy gameplan to keep you fueled, happy, and ready to tackle the day.

Energy: Cupped, Canned, or Bottled

Before you dive into shopping and deals, you need breakfast and a strong cup, can, or bottle of energy. Luckily, Barberton has some amazing spots to kick off your morning.

Breakfast Choices: Fuel Up Right

  • Kavé Coffee Bar - Cozy vibes, specialty lattes, hearty breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and pastries. Perfect if you want both food and caffeine to power through the morning. Holly loves to go here with friends.
  • Anna Bean Coffee Company - Train station cafe with fresh pastries and drinks. Yes, the train tracks on 4th Street NW that aren't overly bumpy at all. Great place to take pictures and great for a lighter start.
  • Enchanted Café - Family-run, famous for their elf-themed murals, eggs benedict, and thanksgiving baklava. If you want a full breakfast spread, this is your spot. I know I had you at elf-themed murals...
  • TUSK Diner - All-day breakfast, smoothies, and locally sourced ingredients in a modern diner setting. Ideal if you want variety and a sit-down meal. You're thinking about Fleetwood Mac now aren't you?

Midday Break: Lunch in Barberton

Shopping works up an appetite (that's my excuse anyway), and Barberton has some incredible lunch spots to keep you going:

  • Dee’s 50’s Place Diner - Retro vibes, burgers, fries, and milkshakes. A fun stop for families and friends. Honestly, these people are really nice, I love supporting them.
  • Al’s Corner Restaurant - Pierogies, Hungarian chicken paprikash, and cabbage rolls. Let me repeat that. Pierogies, Hungarian chicken paprikash, and cabbage rolls. Oh and I don't mean Mrs. T's Pierogies, real pierogies by real people.
  • Magic Subs & Gyros - Gyros, Philly steaks, Reubens, subs, burgers, and more. Fast, flavorful, and filling. We normally get the Club sub, Italian Sub, Fried Pickles, and two cookies. Enough to have for second lunch :) You can also try to win some rubber ducks from the claw machine while waiting for your food.

Dinner Time: End the Day Right

By now you’ve hopefully scored some deals, walked a few laps around Lake Anna to work off lunch (weather permitting), and maybe even dropped some quarters at Game On Arcade for pinball or retro games. If you crossed the street to Magic City Comics and Collectibles, you probably found something cool to take home too.

Now, let’s be real, it’s probably past 4 pm by this point, which means it’s pitch dark and cold. So whether you’re ready to eat or just want to grab food to take home, Barberton has plenty of legendary spots to warm you up.

Barberton Chicken Classics

  • Hopocan Gardens - A true Barberton tradition, famous for its fried chicken dinners.
  • Belgrade Gardens - Another local icon, serving Barberton-style chicken since 1933. They also have a really good Hot Turkey Sandwich. Yes, I go to a famous chicken place and get turkey lol. But honestly you are have probably had enough turkey for a while...

Pizza & Italian Favorites

  • Upper Crust - A newer spot with pizza and chicken. They have gluten free pizza crust and Nashville Hot Chicken, which my baby cry self finds too spicy, but others in the family love it.
  • Angie’s Italian Restaurant - Pizza, pasta, subs, and Italian comfort food. They have a drive-thru where you can pick up your food, which is pretty cool.
  • The Original Peppe & Luigi’s - A Barberton classic (and my father-in-law’s favorite).

Something Different

  • Hibachi King - Next to Peppe & Luigi’s, so get both! Hibachi, if you’re craving something outside the things listed above. The owners of this place are really proud of their place.

Wind Down: Holiday Beauty at Lake Anna

You’ve made it. Breakfast, shopping, lunch, more shopping, dinner… the full Black Friday energy gameplan. Now that you’ve got all the food figured out (if you still can't decide, there are sooo sooo many more great places to eat in Barberton owned by great people), now you can slow down and enjoy the season.

Take a drive around Lake Anna, soak in the holiday lights and the beauty of Barberton in winter. It might be cold, it might already feel like midnight at 4 pm, but that’s part of the charm.

And here’s the best part, we’ll see you tomorrow, when you’re back for the Christmas Walk. Because in Barberton, the holidays aren’t just about shopping, they’re about community, tradition, and celebrating together.

Remember, one of the big things that make Barberton the wonderful place that it is, are the people, and that includes you. You are great, and the world is better with you in it. Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful holiday season.
